Whenever I pop balloons in the office, people call me “inconsiderate” and “frankly, just a nuisance.” But little do they know, it’s a legitimate sound effect recording process – and now I have the footage to prove it!

It takes a lot of distinct – and unexpected – sounds to make the Overworld of Minecraft Legends feel alive and familiar yet completely new. In the latest Dev Diary, the team will be discussing the sound design of the game and revealing their recording process, from hiring an actual symphony orchestra (!) to grunting into a mic or tapping on bike spokes. Crispin from Lionshead, Sashen from Blackbird Interactive, and Samuel from Mojang Studios will guide us through the soundscape of Minecraft Legends’ Overworld, with insights like:
